Somebody else's spelling list is no use to you

Almost every free spelling worksheet online arrives with its words already printed on it, which is the wrong way round. Friday's test uses your child's list, chosen by their teacher, and no published sheet will match it.

Five formats beat one format five times

Writing a word ten times stops being practice after about the third repetition — the child is copying shapes, not spelling. Meeting the same word in different formats forces a fresh retrieval each time: recall it from dictation, complete it from partial letters, unscramble it, find it in a grid.
